Adopt a Rain Garden

The Adopt-A-Rain Garden Program was developed by the City of Owatonna to increase public awareness of water quality issues and solutions by making municipal rain gardens available for "adoption". Your group can help improve the beauty and value of Owatonna's neighborhoods by adopting a rain garden. Community groups, churches, individuals or businesses adopt a rain garden by picking up litter, weeding around native plants and installing new mulch when needed.

Ways to Apply for Adoption

  • Spread mulch when needed and as directed by the City
  • Weed the rain garden twice, once during the spring and once during the fall
